ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES: Even though 2nd term was just 10 weeks, the teachers did their best to meet up with the academic activities for the term; those who could not were close. The teachers deserve accolades for their quality of care and services. SCHOOL UNIFORMS: School uniforms will always be discussed because most of the parents are not complying with the right use of our uniforms. Please parents, we will continue to emphasize and appeal to you to please make sure the uniforms are well worn and ironed. Please help to dignify the school and your children by dressing them well. Try to check what your wards wear to school everyday, see if they are worn correctly. It will give the school authority much pleasure if pupils and students come to school with neat and well ironed uniforms. Henceforth, pupils and students with neat and well ironed uniforms throughout the term will attract prizes. The ball is now in your court. Please note that a well dressed pupil or student of Joan Academy is one with all the accessories in place ( Tie, right colour of sucks and black shoes not sandals). Any pupil or student found wanting will be sent home. Parents please take note. SCHOOL FEES: Parents should be ready to pay their wards fees before or within the first two weeks of resumption. These early birds, that is, set of parents who don't joke with their wards fees will receive a reward. Denying the school of prompt payment of fees adversely affects the school as well as the teachers. Please parents do not deny the school of prompt payment. Late payment will attract additional fee of #5,000 per a child. Please pay within the stipulated time to avoid extra fee and argument. This language does not help them in anyway instead teach them in your own language. Please parents, these issues are very serious. Advice them to communicate in the right Diction in school and even at home, practice they say makes perfect. Let's join hands ✋ together to fight this battle and be proud of the end product. The school authority will continue to send this message until we see changes. READING CULTURE: It has been observed with dismay that our Pupils and students do not find reading fun. This has been a great concern to us. We are therefore introducing reading culture into our curriculum. Instead of homework throughout the week, two days will be slated for reading and summarizing of notes copied as their weekly test. In English language, there will be essay and composition on certain topics every week. Parents please make sure your wards do their assignments and again make sure your wards in the primary and secondary classes have a dictionary. Pocket size for those in the primary. ACTIVITY FOR THE TERM: There shall be a graduation ceremony this term after a long abstinence from extracurricular activities. The cost is part of the fees for the term. RESUMPTION: School resume on the 19th of April 2021. Joan Academy shall resume normal closing hour of 3:30 pm for secondary and basic classes, while Nursery classes will be 2pm.
